Today, I was delighted to be part of an amazing fashion team responsible for styling Miss Universe Cork, Nicola Meldurm (beautiful brunette on the far left) for a very special photoshoot.
Nicola has poker straight waist length hair so when I got the brief for sex and the city style curls, I thought stronghold hairspray and ‘please hold!’
Because Nicola’s hair is so thick and heavy and long, getting her hair to bounce and wave and more importantly to hold was a bit of a challenge, but thanks to Wella hairspray, some pincurling, teasing and ruffling of hair, the result was long-lasting and a success. Not to mention lots of fun!
Top Tip:
For you girls with long hair and who want to make their curls hold here’s my tip!
Use a curling wand to curl your hair.
As you release the wand, roll the hair into itself so that it forms a tight curl. Then pin into place using curling grips. Because the hair is still hot it will form the shape of the curl and because it is pinned, gravity looses its effect!
When you take out the hair grips, loosen the curls.
Starting at the tips, hold the hair in one hand and with the other hand push the hair up toward the roots and then loosen to form a soft and bouncy curl!
Have fun experimenting!
